A
custom-designed kiosk has been installed on the first floor of the Library,
where visitors can view “Abraça
o Barco, the Rose Dorothea Story.” This short documentary explains
how the Grand Banks fishing schooner Rose Dorothea won the Lipton Cup in
1907 and why a 66 foot model now lives in the heart of Provincetown Public
Library. The film is also available on DVD and may be borrowed with your
CLAMS card. Funding for this project was made possible by the Massachusetts
Foundation for the Humanities, the local Cultural Council and the Friends
and Supporters of the Provincetown Public Library.
