“I want it . . .

I love it . . .

I want some more of it  . . . books and information, that is!” 

That’s what we’ve been hearing from our Library’s patrons over the past year, and we don’t see it changing anytime soon. 

 

Here are the FY 07/01/02—06/30/03 stats that tell the story.

Ø      95,878 people visited the Library last year, a 4% increase.

Ø      51,650 items were borrowed last year, a 6.2% increase.

Ø      2,449 Provincetown residents hold Library cards and used the Library.

Ø      3,225 children and 472 adults participated in 285 special Library programs.

Ø      Library holdings are at 30,910 including books, periodicals, cds/video cassettes/DVDs.

Ø      47 volunteers served a total of 7,348 hours, an average of 156.5 hours per year.

Ø      Our Library is open 7 days each week year round – a total of 48 hours per week,

more than any other on the Cape and Islands. 

 

All this with only 3 full-time professional Staff members and 8 part-time Library associates/technicians, and total operating expenditures of $216,309!
