MOTHER GOOSE
ASKS “WHY?”
Provincetown Public Library
invites children 3-7 years old and their families or caregivers to participate
in a new program called “Mother Goose Asks "Why?” in which children
and adults will share picture books one-on-one, with activities which will
get them thinking about science in everyday life.
The eight-week series will
begin on Sunday, February 29, at 2-3 p.m. in the Children’s Room of
the Provincetown Public Library. Each family will receive a tote bag, the
Family Science Guide to Great Literature and Science Activities, and a science
activity kit containing materials necessary for fun follow-up activities
at home.
Mother Goose Asks
"Why" is being funded through the Massachusetts Board of Library
Commissioners with funds from LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act),
a Federal source of Library funding. The series is free and open
to the public. To register, or for more information, come in or call the Library
at 508-487-7094. There will also be a special presentation at the
Library booth, at Year Rounders’ Festival, March
13, at Provincetown Town Hall.
